This access statement does not contain any personal opinions as to our suitability for those with access needs but aims to accurately describe the facilities and services that we offer all of our visitors.

Introduction:

Lea Marston Hotel welcomes those with disabilities and have developed this access statement to address some of the more common issues that disabled people face. Please explain any individual needs to our reception team, who will be able to advise on the most suitable options. We aim to ensure that all employees, guests, and others who use the hotel are treated equally and according to their individual needs. Please also take advantage of our 3D virtual tour on our website, which includes bedroom types and public areas; this gives a good visual indication of the hotel layout.

We are nestled within 54 acres of landscaped grounds, situated 12 miles from Birmingham. We are close to the Midlands motorway network just 1 mile from M42 Junction 9 and close to Birmingham International Airport and National Exhibition Centre.

We have 119 bedrooms and there are 2 accessible bedrooms for wheelchair users.

We have free on-site parking and are close to key transport links, our nearest railway station is Coleshill Parkway Rail Station, located just 3 miles away or alternatively Birmingham International Rail Station is 8 miles from the hotel. If you require an accessible taxi this can be booked in advance.

The nearest bus stop is 4 mins away and operates Birmingham to Belgrave.

Parking:

There are 220 free car parking spaces on site with 4 disabled spaces available for guest use. The carpark surface is tarmac and is well lit at night.

The main entrance door is manual and measures 150mm, the door is light to push/pull and opens both inwards and outwards.

Bedrooms:

All of our bedrooms are carpeted with tiled bathrooms. Most of the bedrooms are not suitable for wheelchair users, but are suitable for people with some reduced mobility, perhaps with walking sticks or crutches. We have 2 ground floor accessible bedrooms that can be accessed via step-free access on ground level of the hotel which would be suitable for wheelchair users. There is a lift available for access to bedrooms on upper floors.

Public Areas & Dining:

All public areas including stairs and landings within the hotel are well lit. We have three fabulous dining choices on site: The Brasserie is located on the ground floor, between Hathaway’s and B76, Hathaway’s Pub is located on the ground floor and has several access points and Bar76 is located on the ground floor, next to the Brasserie and Reception. The nearest accessible public toilets are in Hathaway’s Pub.

We offer 24-hour room service. We cater to allergies and different food intolerances although we cannot guarantee against trace elements. The restaurant team can assist to your requirements with pleasure and our chefs are happy to discuss any different requirements.

Toilets:

Public toilets can be found on the ground floor and disabled toilets are located in Hathaway’s Pub and have fitted grab rails/emergency alarm cords with alarm ringing on Reception.

Event and Meeting Spaces:

We have 12 adaptable conference and event spaces to choose from in the hotel, all of which are carpeted and air conditioned. All meeting and event rooms are wheelchair friendly.

There are 7 on the ground floor, all with step free access. First floor meeting spaces are accessible via lift.

We have a full team of experienced and professional event staff who can help you with every aspect of planning your event and cater to your individual needs.
