Housekeeping Manager | Marcia
My name is Marcia, and I was the Housekeeping Supervisor at Lea Marston Hotel for nearly two years before I was recently promoted to Housekeeping Manager. The best part of my job is the people I work with; the friendly atmosphere is what makes it worthwhile.
Housekeeping brings something different every day. There is always plenty to do, but we always have fun! Housekeeping can be very busy at times, but we all pull together as a team and get the job done. I love my Lea Marston family, and I can’t wait to see what the future brings!
Operations Manager | Shona
I started working at Lea Marston in 2000 as a Supervisor in The Sportsman’s Bar which is now our Hathaway’s Bar. I then moved up to become a Trainee Manager, Assistant Manager and then Hathaway’s Manager. I spent 10 years in this department before I got promoted to Senior Duty Manager. After lockdown I then moved back to Food and Beverage and became the Food and Beverage Manager. For the last 2 years I have been the Operations Manager for the hotel, it’s safe to say I have worked in nearly every department we have!
What I like most about working here is the ability to progress and move roles within the company. There are lots of different training opportunities and qualifications available and if you want to progress your career in Hospitality, Lea Marston is the place to be. I became a Mental Heath First Aider in 2021 and I can honestly say I love my job as much now as I did when I started 23 years ago.
Conference & Events Co-Ordinator | Sam
I started working at Lea Marston Hotel in October 1998 beginning my career as a Receptionist, I worked full time on Reception for 4 years before transferring into the Sales Office. I started as a Sales Coordinator but also held the position of Conference Sales Manager up until I had my first daughter after 10 years’ service. After taking 12 months off on maternity leave, I returned back to the office on a part time basis, looking after weddings! This I absolutely love!
Taking a break again to have my second daughter 3 years later, my decision was to continue with my part-time hours for the next 10 years or so whilst the girls where at school. Now my girls are both older and at high school, I have made the decision to increase my hours back to a full-time. I love how flexible Lea Marston have been with me and I will be celebrating 25 years’ service this coming October!
Food and Beverage Assistant | Jason
I’m Jason and I have been working at Lea Marston for 20 years this year! I started as Conference and Banqueting Assistant and now work as a Food and Beverage Assistant; I can also work behind the bar but most of the time I am running conferences and big events. I take pride in my work and my approach is always customer focused. I suffer from Asperger’s so to make sure I plan things out in my head I like get in to work early and make sure we are set for the day. I am well supported in my role by a good team of managers and teammates and yes, some days are hard but are rewarding when you get praised for doing a good job.
