WARWICK CASTLE
Experience more than 1,100 years of history in one of Britain's finest medieval fortresses – come rain or shine.
Are you brave enough to enter the Castle Dungeon? An exciting 50 minute walk through that brings together live actors, shows and spectacular special effects that will send chills down your spine.
Dazzling shows and attractions, heaps of gruesome history and awesome birds of prey, all set within 64 acres of beautiful grounds and gardens make Warwick Castle a fun, action-packed day out for everyone.
TWYCROSS ZOO
Norton Grange, Norton-Juxta-Twycross, Atherstone CV9 3PX
The only UK zoo home to all four great apes.
Twycross Zoo is an award-winning conservation charity, with an award-winning schools programme, and fun for all the family. Set in more than 80 acres, they have around 500 animals of almost 100 species to see, including many endangered animals and also native species in the Zoo's Nature Reserve.
Highlights for us include walking with the ring-tailed lemurs; seeing a troop of emperor tamarins leap above your head in their treetop exhibit, and watching the Humboldt penguins take their daily walk.
DRAYCOTE WATER
Draycote Water, Kites Hardwick CV23 8AB
Whether on foot, by bike or on the water; Draycote Water, a stones throw from Rugby, offers stunning countryside and nature for all to explore. From bird watching to fishing, cycling to walking and watersports, there really is something for everyone.
Why not try some sailing or windsurfing? There's lots on offer for all ages and abilities. Alternatively grab the bikes and helmets and take in the scenic views of the water.
GO APE COVENTRY

Days out at Go Ape are about living life more adventurously, having fun, spending time with friends and getting in touch with your inner adventurer. The 500-acres of Coombe Country Park set a beautiful backdrop to your treetop experience with stunning gardens, woodland and lake.
With a Treetop Challenge, Treetop Adventure+ and Treetop Adventure, this location has something for the thrill-seeking adults and fun-seeking children. This is a challenging but sociable course which packs a punch featuring a Tarzan Swing and 200 metre dual zip wires.
You can also channel your inner warrior with a spot of axe throwing.
